DIY FABRIC GARLAND

It’s been birthday season at my house and I love to decorate with these fabric buntings that I made from old bed sheets.  You can use scraps from your sewing projects, old t-shirts, bedsheets or anything else that can be torn or cut into strips. This style of bunting would be great for a shabby chic wedding, decor for a child’s bedroom, or to be used for party decor…again & again. All you need is: 1) a length of twine slightly longer than the area you want to hang the bunting. 2) Strips of fabric about 1.5″ wide and 20″ long. 3) Some tape to secure the ends of your twine will you work.

CUT YOUR FABRIC TO SIZE. You do not need to be precise with this as you can always trim it at the end.

SECURE YOUR TWINE. I taped each end lengthwise on my dining room table for this bunting.

LOOP YOUR STRIPS. Simply, fold your strips in half, slide the loop end under the twine, feed the ends through, and pull it tight to secure. Repeat!
